ChatSonic Review (2023): The Best AI Writer on the Market?

The latest advancements in AI writing have made it possible to create unbelievably accurate and well-performing AI writing tools, such as ChatSonic by WriteSonic, Jasper, or CopyAI.

These tools use OpenAI’s GPT-3 and ChatGPT technologies behind the scenes, which are state-of-the-art AI writing algorithms.

Recently, one of the best AI writing services called ChatSonic has gained attention as a better alternative to the ChatGPT model published in Dec 2022.

This is a comprehensive review of ChatSonic.

I’ve run some extensive testing with ChatSonic as well as ChatGPT to offer you the best results and comparisons to give you an idea of the power of these tools.

What is ChatSonic?

ChatSonic is an AI-powered chatbot that uses natural language processing to help you write unique and non-plagiarized content.

ChatSonic is better than ChatGPT in knowing the latest trends and news. It offers more advanced capabilities like up-to-date information on current events, creating art from texts, and understanding voice commands.

Additionally, you can use Chatsonic for free for up to 2,500 words!

Getting Started with ChatSonic

ChatSonic is an AI writing service provided by WriteSonic, which is one of the best AI writing tools on the market.

To start using ChatSonic, head over to writesonic.com/chat. After signing up, you’ll be assigned a 2,500-word free trial that requires no credit card. This is great as it literally takes 15 seconds to start using ChatSonic.

ChatSonic Key Features

The key feature of ChatSonic is that it’s one of the first AI writing tools that knows the latest information, such as today’s news.

Here are some of the most notable features of ChatSonic.

The key features of ChatSonic include:

  • AI-powered text quick generation capabilities. The latest advancements in AI make it possible to have a natural conversation with ChatSonic such that it remembers the conversations and produces unique and well-thought responses in no time.
  • Text-to-art generation. One of the coolest features in my opinion is the Art integration. You can ask ChatSonic to produce a piece of AI art by just describing the unique art you want to see. In this sense, ChatSonic is an all-in-one solution as it combines text generation, art/image generation, and chat.
  • Natural language understanding. Needless to mention, ChatSonic is capable of understanding natural language making it a conversational and smoothly flowing AI chatbot like no other.
  • Content creation. You can use ChatSonic to create written content, such as song lyrics, to tell jokes, write blog posts, or predict the weather.
  • Cost-effective automation. WriteSonic and ChatSonic have a really affordable pricing model as opposed to tools like Jasper. Although ChatSonic is paid whereas ChatGPT is free, the additional features that ChatSonic has are quite unique and most likely worth paying too!

Thus far, it’s been all jargon but let’s put ChatSonic to test!

Let’s also draw some comparisons to the free ChatGPT model which is the underlying AI algorithm that also powers ChatSonic.

My Experience with ChatSonic

ChatSonic has a nice and simple UI with some chat examples you can use in case you cannot come up with your own messages. It also lists the capabilities of the tool to remind you what it can do and what it can’t.

Here’s the chat view of ChatSonic that you will see after signing up to the service (for free):

ChatSonic chat view

Just like any other chatting service, on the bottom, there’s a message field you can use to send messages to ChatSonic. This really makes it feel like having an actual conversation with someone over the internet.

Now, let’s test the main features of ChatSonic, that is, image generation, text generation, and code generation.

1. Generate Images

Let’s try ChatSonic image generation capabilities. For example, let’s ask it to create an image of Messi in WorldCup 2022:

Well, that’s impressive! At least by a quick look.

Although the image was not quite what I was looking for, I could use these all day as a blog post featured image or a Youtube thumbnail, for instance.

Please, keep in mind that the current AI image generation technology is good at generating unique, original, and artistic images but it has no real understanding of the text. This is why images with words and logos usually tend to make no sense when you take a closer look at them.

For example, if you take a look at the above images, you will certainly recognize it’s Messi. But if you know a bit more about soccer, you notice that the shirt is not an Argentina shirt, but an FC Barcelona shirt which is not what I asked for (Messi no longer even plays in that team). Also, the jersey number is wrong. Messi plays at 10, not at 11. Besides, the world cup trophy is recognizable but at the same time, it kind of makes no sense with the text and the shape.

That being said, there are lots of inaccuracies in the images that AI can produce. But this is not really an issue with ChatSonic. Instead, it’s the problem that arises in the underlying technology that actually generates these images.

If it was 2020, I’d definitely give this feature a 10/10. But because these days AI image generation has improved by leaps and bounds I’ll have to score it 7/10 as I’m sure these will become so much better in the next couple of years.

Also, notice that this is just a single image I’m reviewing. When I tested the tool on other types of images/art, it did really impressive things.

For example, this image is super impressive and I’ll definitely give it a 10/10.

Now, let’s move on to the main feature of ChatSonic, text generation.

2. Answer a Question

The key difference between ChatSonic and ChatGPT (or pretty much any other AI writing tool) is that ChatSonic knows the latest trends and news.

The AI writing models, such as GPT-3 or ChatGPT are trained on data found on the internet and are usually limited to the years 2021 or 2019. This means for example that GPT-3 and ChatGPT know nothing about the World Cup 2022 results.

But ChatSonic fixes this shortcoming.

For example, let’s ask ChatSonic’s own take on one of the most controversial decisions in the world cup 2022:

As you can see from the response, ChatSonic knows fully well what I’m talking about. Furthermore, in its own words, ChatSonic clarifies why and how the decision was made.

For someone not familiar with this controversy, it was the Japan – Spain game where the ball clearly went out of bounds. But thanks to the latest camera technology (VAR), the ref was able to see that the ball actually was still in play and the goal that resulted was accepted.

Pretty impressive, once again.

It feels like I’m talking to a person who has watched the game and read the news from the following days. What ChatSonic said here is pretty much exactly how the situation went.

Now, as another example, let’s ask ChatSonic about the weather here in Helsinki, Finland. This is something you cannot do with ChatGPT or GPT-3 language models as their data are related to events before 2021.

Incredible, that’s spot on!

I was just walking outside and the temperature was about 27 degrees in Fahrenheit.

As the last example, you can obviously ask ChatSonic for some help when generating a blog post.

Here’s an example blog post outline I generated with ChatSonic as well as the first chapter summary:

So not only is ChatSonic good for creating images and answering questions, but it can also assist with blog posts, essays, and similar.

3. Write Code

Last but not least, ChatSonic knows how to write code.

For example, here’s the code it generated when I asked it to write about Python class inheritance:

The code generated is on the right track, but this is not the type of code I was looking for.

  • First of all, there’s no formatting. The code is written out as plain text which is annoying for developers.
  • Then, the example code it generated was not that good even though it kind of demonstrates how the inheritance works. I mean you cannot run this code to see what it really does because it does nothing useful.

So for this use case, I must say ChatSonic is not your best bet. For comparison, let’s ask ChatGPT the same question:

In this example, the code is formatted nicely. More importantly, it’s well explained and it actually does something useful.

Use Cases

ChatSonic use cases

As you saw in the examples, the main use cases for ChatSonic are image generation, text generation, and code generation.

In my opinion, the best way to find more useful use cases for AI writers is to just explore and use your own imagination.

Here are some ideas for potentially great use cases for ChatSonic:

  1. Blog post generation
  2. Email generator
  3. Idea generator
  4. Video transcript generator
  5. Song lyrics generator
  6. SVG logo generator
  7. Image generator
  8. Blog post stock photo generator
  9. Art generator
  10. NFT Generator
  11. Weather predictor app
  12. Joke generator
  13. Name generator
  14. Business idea generator
  15. HTML landing page generator
  16. Code generator
  17. Debugger
  18. Code explainer
  19. Homework solver
  20. Essay generator

And so, so much more.

Remember that you can use ChatSonic for anything that involves writing text or understanding text. Its natural language processing skills are getting closer and closer to the human level!

Pricing

ChatSonic has an affordable and fully customizable pricing model.

First of all, you will definitely get a good idea of how great the tool is by using the free trial of 2,500 words first. You can generate a lot of text and images with it to be sure the tool is worth paying for.

Then, depending on the number of words you’re approximately going to generate each month, you can choose the best plan for you.

For example, if you’re a blogger who wants to generate 160,000 words per month, choose a Long-Form plan for $66/month.

Please keep in mind the number of words you generate with WriteSonic’s ChatSonic can be a bit more than you anticipated because of the re-generations you might sometimes need to do.

Pros & Cons

An image that represents pros and cons according to ChatSonic 😉

In this section of the blog post, we’ll discuss the benefits and drawbacks of using ChatSonic.

One advantage of ChatSonic is that it is easy to use, affordable, and can be a fun tool to help spark creativity.

However, it’s important to note that ChatSonic is not perfect and may make mistakes that require human intervention to ensure that the final product meets the desired standards.

  • Human intervention required: ChatSonic is a useful tool, but it is not a replacement for human writers. The requires human intervention to make sure the writing is actually good and makes sense.

  • Repetition: ChatSonic may repeat itself or suggest the same corrections or ideas multiple times which can be frustrating.

Who Is ChatSonic For?

I can’t believe that in 2022, there an AI chatbot that is suitable for everyone no matter the niche or use case. Better yet, it’s the one that actually works and can make working easier in many ways.

So, ChatSonic is literally for everyone. Whether you’re a 9-to-5 worker, entrepreneur, blogger, songwriter, or story writer, you should start experimenting with AI because it’s the future of writing.

If you start experimenting now, chances are you get a competitive edge over the others and come up with a unique and streamlined workflow or use case.

Also, you will benefit from AI writing now because there are still lots of people new to this technology.

Conclusion

ChatSonic is an AI-powered chatbot that can help individuals write faster and to more productive by generating original text and images lightning fast.

Notice that ChatGPT is free and ChatSonic is not. But this is for good reason. Unlike ChatGPT, ChatSonic knows the latest news and trends as well as knows how to generate images and art.

By the way, don’t let the word chatbot confuse you. This is not a chatbot you would use on a business website to do customer service. Instead, it’s a general chatbot anyone can use with any problems or questions.

With its advanced AI capabilities, such as content generation or text-to-art generation, ChatSonic can not only help create engaging conversations.
